As of a few days ago (the twenty-third), Rectify is officially a year older. My fan animation is two years old as of the 9th.
Thank you, all of you who have listened, for listening.

No, I’m not dead (at least yet). With work and the need to sleep hogging most of my energy (or lack thereof), I’m afraid I haven’t had much left for anything else. It greatly saddens me, but I’m pushing forward again.
A quick update, I’m extremely honored to see that five of my homestuck-centered compositions have been nominated (five! holy cow.) for the up-and-coming second Homestuck Fan Album. As the maximum allowed for acceptance per artist is three tracks, I’ve selected: Rectify, Irradiated and The Felt - Rise of Lord English. Two other tracks, Lotus and Curtain Roll, were both nominated - unfortunately they will not be included, and will instead be available on my Soundcloud profile.
Thanks everyone again for putting up with my absence, I really appreciate your patience.
As the second contest album has finally been released, I can finally quit being so quiet on each of my public profiles. My track, Pilot Light: The Witch’s Cauldron, made it into the second album of coloUrs and mayhem: Universe B. I created the track to represent the ignition of the Forge, located on Jade’s world (Land of Frost and Frogs), and of the Forge’s warmth revealing a lush landscape beneath. All in all it was a fun project, and I am honored to not only be among all the talented artists who submitted, but to be included in the final result as well.
I originally submitted two songs, Pilot Light: The Witch’s Cauldron and Rectify. While my intention was to enter a total of three songs, my time certainly proved to be limited; I was nonetheless determined to mix at least two brand new compositions for submission. Rectify, my second submission, focused on inspiration from [s] Cascade. It featured Jack Noir’s leitmotif derived from Black (my favorite song ever to work with) with a focus on shifting the mood to a more determined “bad-guy-gone-good” sort of reformation, while still hinting at Jack’s more vengeful side.
A little about me, I’m a web engineer by profession and I write music and videos in my spare time, most of which can be found on my Soundcloud and Youtube profiles. I’ve written a tribute animation for Homestuck and am actively working on a second, both of which can be found by clicking either of the links below. I like to inspire people to create, and I’ve devoted my life to doing so. Such is the reason behind my alias AutoDevote: I am devoted to that which makes me who I am - the people and world around me.

Rectify, by AutoDevote.
(now completed!)
- I had an idea after I watched [S] Cascade, and though I know it would go against Jack’s present nature I really feel like if he had the motivation to redirect his bloodthirsty warpath in the name of helping the kids (due to some unprecedented character development) he might. That being said, I sat down and began thinking. I’ve noticed a majority of the entries I’ve seen so far are covers of present songs, and while I was trying to stray away from using melodies and motifs that were already in existence, I decided to try my hand at it.
I present my track for Jack Noir, Rectify. This is my second entry for the Homestuck Music Contest, and I really like the way this one turned out. I’ve logged twelve hours and nine minutes on this track so far, and I intend to polish it up just a bit further before I submit it officially. :D
